Winncare Supine Transfer System image

Medical device manufacturer Winncare has launched the new complete Supine Transfer System, which is designed to be convenient and portable, so that patients anywhere can be lifted quickly and safely.

This portable transfer system is made up of the Rhino Lifting Cushion, the Swift Transfer Slide, and the Airflo Duo air pump.

Falls can happen in car parks, corridors, and bathrooms, as well as hospital wards, and so portable equipment is essential to ensure patients are lifted quickly and safely, Winncare higlights.

The products are the first to be launched with an entirely portable pump, which works on both battery or mains power. These assistive technologies also offer hands-free inflation for the healthcare workers.

The Rhino Lifting Cushion is designed to inflate and lift a person in the supine position from the floor to a suitable height for a bed or stretcher.

The Swift Transfer Slide reduces the amount of moving and handling force needed for lateral transfers and repositioning patients.

Completing the transfer system is the Airflo Duo. This is a unique air pump that has been designed and tested by AMRC, part of Sheffield University.

The Mangar Supine Transfer System has been tested for optimal ergonomics by the ATTiC team, part of the University of Wales, to ensure optimum back safety and comfort for both the patient and healthcare workers.

Simon Claridge, CEO of Winncare UK, said: “We are delighted to see this innovative product come to market. We are confident the Supine Transfer System will be an excellent addition to our product range as we feel that our expertise not only with safe patient lifting devices, but also in manufacturing inflatable equipment, means that we have been able to produce an extremely effective solution to lift patients safely from the floor.

“We have showcased the Mangar Supine Transfer System at multiple events throughout this year and the response we received from healthcare professionals was incredibly exciting and really showed us how much this product will be able to make a different in hospitals and other healthcare settings.”

These new products will sit alongside Winncare’s portfolio of medical devices, which consists of patient lifting cushions, bathing products, beds, pressure care mattresses, and hoists.

Last year, Norfolk County Council saw avoidable ambulance callouts to resident falls within care homes in the region reduce by 75 percent with an initiative that combined a health assessment app called ISTUMBLE and a Mangar lifting cushion from medical equipment manufacturer Winncare.
