Driving Mobility, a national charity that provides a network of driving assessment centres for disabled drivers of all ages, will be exhibiting services from its recently opened centre in Glasgow at the upcoming Kidz to Adultz Scotland exhibition.

Kidz to Adultz Scotland take place Thursday 8 September 2022 from 9.30am-4.30pm at the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh.

Driving Mobility coordinates a network of over 20 centres in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, many with outreach facilities, which provide ‘fitness to drive’ and mobility equipment assessments.

Supported by The Department for Transport, Driving Mobility Approved Driving Instructors (ADIs) and occupational therapists (OTs) guide and support individuals who self-refer or are signposted from the DVLA, Motability, police and NHS.

Driving Mobility’s latest centre, DriveAbility Scotland, is the first to provide services for Scottish people as nearby centres in England cannot be accessed by residents north of the border due to NHS commissioning rules.

The new driving assessment centre is located next to Mobility Solutions, a part of Allied Vehicles, in Glasgow and is open Monday to Wednesday 9am-5pm, where the friendly team will be ready to resolve all assisted driving needs.

At Kidz Scotland, the Driving Mobility team will be on hand to support young disabled drivers and those wishing to learn. There will be advice on all aspects of adapted driving from tuition and gaining a licence through to appropriate vehicles and steering adaptations.

The DriveAbility Scotland team provides car driving assessments, driver and passenger access car seat assessments, driving tuition service, off-road assessments, and driving adaptations assessments.

Kidz to Adultz regional events are organised by Disabled Living and provide CPD opportunities throughout the day.

Recently, Mary Yates, Occupational Therapist, hosted a CPD seminar at Kidz to Adultz Middle highlighting how Driving Mobility Assessment Centres help disabled drivers get behind the wheel.
