Kepler Vision Technologies and Telegrafik partnership image

An international collaboration will see care home residents better cared for with powerful AI technology that is able to detect when patients fall, are experiencing discomfort, or are struggling to stand, and notify staff the instant they are needed to assist.

The partnership is between elderly care software provider Kepler Vision Technologies and French healthcare services provider Telegrafik.

It will see Kepler Vision Technologies’ AI software look after the wellbeing of care home residents in a facility in L’Isle-d’Abeau, France.

Kepler Vision Technologies’ Night Nurse solution is a computer vision-based body language detection system.

By combining machine learning training and computer vision, Kepler Night Nurse is able to detect falls, patient discomfort, and abnormal behaviour, notifying care staff so that they can respond immediately. This solution helps cut down on false alarms, and the unnecessary strain they place on care staff, according to the firm.

Dr Harro Stokman, CEO and founder of Kepler Vision, said: “We are very excited to be making the next step in international expansion with TELEGRAFIK. Its position as a market leader in integrating healthcare technologies makes it the perfect partner to expound the virtues of the Kepler Night Nurse solution – making it much easier for care homes and medical facilities to benefit from the advantages we offer in terms of patient care and staff workloads.”

Telegrafik is a connected solutions platform for ageing well that is designed to protect elderly and vulnerable people, prevent loss of autonomy, and inform and coordinate professional caregivers in all care environments.

It provides a unique platform for all connected ageing well solutions to manufacturers and integrators wishing to improve the lives of those in their care, including solutions for fall detection, innovative remote assistance with actimetry, connected beds, remote medical monitoring, remote consultation, and remote expertise.

Carole Zisa-Garat, CEO of Telegrafic, added: “Kepler Night Nurse is an excellent addition to our suite of available healthcare solutions, and its use in the first facilities equipped will underline just how beneficial and easy to use the system is for care staff – particularly when working in tandem with the care facility’s established practices.

“We have been very impressed with the potential for Kepler Vision to improve the lives of both patients and staff in healthcare environments and look forward to working closely with them in both this ongoing deployment, and to bring the solution to more facilities in future.”

Kepler Vision Technologies recently partnered with Hikvision Spain in a similar way. It saw Kepler Night Nurse installed in three psychiatric hospitals in Spain to detect when patients fall, are experiencing discomfort, or are struggling to stand, and notify staff the instant they are needed to assist.
