Medical equipment supplier Rehasense is set to exhibit its full range of assistive mobility solutions at the OT Show to attending occupational therapists (OTs).

The OT Show is the UK’s leading event for the occupational therapy community for OTs to find updated information, view the latest assistive technologies, and gain CPD certificates from educational seminars and workshops. This year’s event takes place at the NEC in Birmingham on 23 – 24 November.

Rehasense UK will exhibit several models from its comprehensive product portfolio including the Server W Forearm Walker and its range of Power Assisted Wheelchair Systems (PAWS) on stand F71.

Lee French, Managing Director at Rehasense UK, commented: “The OT show is a great opportunity for us to showcase our growing product portfolio to OT’s from around the UK in a friendly and relaxed environment.

“OT’s play a vital role in recommending our products to their clients so to be able to demonstrate our rollators, wheelchairs and power add-ons to so many over a two-day period is an extremely worthwhile investment for us.”

The Server W Forearm Walker is designed for people requiring additional support when walking. It features gutter forearm supports that are height adjustable to between 75cm and 115cm and an integrated handle, which can be adjusted by up to 13cm. The device is also fitted with thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) covered ‘unbreakable’ wheels.

Weighing 9.5kg with a maximum user weight of 150kg, the Server W is one of the lightest forearm walkers available, according to the firm. It can be used in both indoor and outdoor environments and is foldable to fit into a car for transportation.

A one-handed brake system is available for users who have reduced strength in one arm, which can be fitted to either side. There is also the option of a slowdown brake for continuous resistance which enables the user to control the speed of the rollator.

When not in use, the Server W takes up very little space as the A-Lock locking system ensures the Server W stands securely on its wheels when folded. The device is available in sizes medium and large and in colours red, grey, or champagne.

To complement the Server W, there is a comprehensive range of accessories available including an easily remove shopping bag, a net bag for smaller items such as a phone or purse, and a crutch holder.

Also on display at the OT Show 2022 will be examples from the PAWS range. There are three models available with automatic or manual clamp and lift systems.

The PAWS line has a range of up to 25 miles and can be charged from empty in five hours. Standard features include forward/reverse mode, traction control for slippery surfaces and slopes, cruise control, and Walk Mode that allows the user to set the speed at 2.5 mph. PAWS requires no frame alteration or additional add-ons to the wheelchair.

The entry level City is available with a 12” or 14” wheel. It is designed mainly for use around town, with the 12” wheel ideal for smooth tarmac roads, and the larger 14” wheel handles slightly more uneven surfaces. The City can be used indoors with a turning circle of one metre.

For wheelchair users looking to venture off standard road surfaces and onto uneven terrain, such as a forest trail, the Cruiser is ideal, as the larger 16” wheel offers a smooth comfortable ride.

Finally, the Tourer can take wheelchair users to terrain that would normally be inaccessible. Its 20” wheel, 4”-wide tyres, and longer wheelbase for increased clearance and manoeuvrability.

Visitors can also view other examples from Rehasense’s range of rollators and manual wheelchairs at the show. The Rehasense team will be on hand to carry out demonstrations and answer any questions.
